Admission Fees

Collection Exhibitions
Adults: ¥540 (Groups: ¥430/person)
High school and unversity students:¥320 (Groups: ¥260/person)
* Groups with a minimum of 20 people will receive a discounted rate.
*Free for junior high school students and younger, persons aged 65 and over living in Shiga Prefecture, and those with a disability certificate.
*At some times the collection exhibition is not on view.
Special Exhibitions
Admission fees vary depending on the exhibition. Please refer to the exhibition webpage or flyer. A special exhibition ticket also gives viewers same-day free admission to the collection exhibitions.

One-Year Passport

Shiga Museum of Art Membership (one-year passport) available!

Yearly Fees
Adults: 2,400 yen
High school and university students: 1,600 yen
Elementary and junior high school students: 1,200 yen

Members can view the collection exhibitions and special exhibitions an unlimited number of times during the term of validity (one year from date of registration). There are also benefits such as discounts on foods and drinks at the museum shop and café, and priority participation in lectures and tours organized by the museum. Apply at the museum’s reception desk in the lobby.

Free and Reduced Admission Days

Family Sundays (3rd Sunday of every month)

Residents of Shiga Prefecture who visit with family members can get free admission to the collection exhibitions by presenting the Shiga Prefecture information newsletter Shiga Plus One or a Smile Card or visitors can present proof of residence in Shiga Prefecture (driver’s license, health insurance card, etc.) at the reception desk in the lobby.

Experiential Learning Day (every Saturday)

Visitors under the age of 18 living or attending school in Shiga Prefecture can free admission for collection exhibitions, by present Shiga Plus One or a Smile Card at the reception desk in the lobby. Instead of Shiga Plus One or a Smile Card, visitors can present proof of residing or attending school in Shiga Prefecture (student handbook, health insurance card, etc.)

Free Admission, etc.

The followings are exempt from paying admission fees.

  • Residents of Shiga Prefecture aged 65 or older can present proof of age and residence at the reception desk in the lobby for free admission to the collection exhibitions.
  • Those who have a ID of physical disability, Ryoiku Techo (neme of intellectual disability ID in Japanese) or mental disability are offered free admission to the collection exhibitions and special exhibitions. Note that those who only receive disability pensions are not eligible.
  • Caregivers (1 person per care recipient) who meet the following criteria are offered free admission to the collection exhibition and special exhibitions:Care recipient has a physical disability ID (1st class), Ryoiku Techo (class A), or mental disability ID (1st class).

*Regarding procedure for free admission, groups do not need to show individual IDs if they apply in advance. Please contact us for more information.
*These criteria are in accordance with the regulations based on the classification of disabilities in Japan.
