Access

Please use public transportation, such as the JR railway and buses, when visiting the museum.

Access via JR Railway and Bus

  1. Get off at Seta Station on the JR Biwako Line (about 17 minutes from Kyoto Station)
    *Special Rapid Service trains do not stop at Seta Station
  2. Change to a fixed-route bus from the bus stop in front of Seta station, take the Teisan Bus (Bus Stop 1)(about 10 minutes from Seta Station)
    And get off at “県立図書館・美術館前 (In front of prefectural Library and Museum”) or “文化ゾーン前 (In front of Culture Zone)” stop
    *The bus stops at difficult bus stops depending on time, stopping at “県立図書館・美術館前 (In front of prefectural Library and Museum”) during the day and at “文化ゾーン前 (In front of Culture Zone)” in the morning and evening.
  3. Approx. 5-minute walk from bus stop to the museum in the Biwako Cultural Park

Access by Car

  1. From the Shin-Meishin Expressway, exit at Kusatsu-tanakami Interchange and drive for about 5 minutes (approx. 40 minutes from Kyoto, approx. 90 minutes from Nagoya)
  2. Walk approx. 5 minutes from the free parking area in Biwako Cultural Park to the museum
    *There are 3 parking areas (west, east, north) in the park, and walking distance to the museum is almost the same from all.

Guidance for Those with Difficulty Walking

Seniors, people with disabilities and others who have difficulty walking can take a private car or taxi from the manned gate at the Biwako Cultural Park East Parking Area to the front entrance of the museum. (There is a designated parking area in front of the entrance).
