An assembly of triangles reminiscent of the museum’s large roof forms the letters “M” and “S,” and also seems to evoke the shapes of fish leaping in the water and birds taking flight. It conveys an image of the museum making a positive splash in the community as if jumping into the nearby Lake Biwa, and engaging in communication with people from all walks of life.
