This time, as the first exhibition, we introduce two artists working in Shigaraki. One is Sakai Kiyoshi, working at Shigaraki Youth Dormitory; the other is Shigaraki ware artist Tani Q. Both use the same Shigaraki clay as their raw material. However, the feel of each works is quite different
In January of 2023, Tani Q had the opportunity to visit the Shigaraki Youth Dormitory, where Sakai works, and they exchanged their works.
We filmed this interaction and scenes of the artist at creation and exhibited them with their works in the exhibition. Through this exhibition, you can appreciate the various of the expression of clay.
